I have so many pictures to post. So many. I just took some fantastically pretty and girly and adorable photos today, reminiscent of this set, but these are long overdue. When I was in San Diego, Angela and I had ourselves an amazingly enjoyable tea party, it really surprised me! We were so happy with our tea room experience over at The Huntington's rose garden tea room that we prepared our own meal of finger sandwiches, rose cupcakes, and so on. Pictures that I took of arisugawajuri's belongings while she was attending a class, during my first day in Southern California. I'm not a creeper. I promise. Surround me in darling ornaments and decorations with a new lens and an external flash and I can't help but go to town.

Amanda makes my job as a photographer very easy. What's that? You're off to work? Just one picture! Up the contrast and saturation and voilà. Despite the suffocatingly hot weather I insist on taking more pictures of her today.

So. Many. Photographs. After a few weeks spent neglecting my computer, sitting in front of it for so long while editing pictures is making me loopy. Back to cleaning/rearranging for now.

I will spend the new few months paying off a new 55-200mm lens; the 18-55mm is still usable, however, I don't want to damage my D50 with a lens that can't hang on to the mouth. The new lens will take quite a bit of time to get used to; it's considerably slow on autofocus, and I foresee manual settings taking over from here on out.

I think that I was roughly 10 feet away from Sushi with this shot, 145mm.

55mm.

Another 15 feet? I have to stand very far away from an object to achieve maximum depth of field with a 200mm focal length. It's bizarre.

Even my manual focus was a bit too slow for that yawn!

I feel like a creeper with a 5" lens, and that doesn't include the shield.
Now that my Nikon D50 is even more difficult to carry around, I'm considering a Canon PowerShot, as my six year old Sony Cyber-shot has just about had it.

I découpaged a wooden box for a set of five charms; a very fun project!
(I was inspired by Q-POT, which I love to death.)

(Don't laugh at my strawberries, and it's a coffee bean, okay? ♥)

Additionally, the lid is a mirror and the bottom is decorated as well.

Lastly, I wish that Sanders would cancel class. I just want to stay warm inside and watch the snow fall.

Even trivial photography performed out of necessity for distraction is proving quite difficult as a result of my broken lens; I am required to hold the camera together during the process until I am able to acquire new equipment. Nevertheless, I shan't resist adhering my face to my Nikon's viewfinder for the sake of slumbering household pets and long exhausted baubles.

I am reminded of this Valentine's Day entry.

Amanda's new haircut is adorable; I've been meaning to properly shoot her but we've yet to find a corresponding moment of free-time.

Thank you so much, Juri! Surprisingly enough, these chocolates are some of the best I've tasted in quite some time!

A pleasantly enjoyable tea that I picked up in England; I've such an abundance of rose-flavoured tea that I have yet to finish this (rather large) box, however, I am not sure that I want to as it is only sold in the United Kingdom, as far as I can tell, and I'm not at all ready to forfeit that particular memory of scent and taste.

Absolutely my favourite necklace! Stonehenge was the last trip that I went on during my stay in England and I will not lie, I saved the best for last; I have had an affinity for this World Heritage Site ever since elementary school. I finally surrendered to the omnipresent English gift-shop.

I sanded an old, wooden shelf once used to hold boxes of Ashley & Brown tea and I'm painting it white now, as it seems my black shelf is becoming a bit crowded. I'm going to decoupage the wooden box in the first photo as well, and speaking of which, I should post some of the photos that I snapped of my jewelry for poupeegirl because they are surprisingly cute for being so quick and simple!

No new lens at the moment, though tonight I have my eye on a Nikon 55-200mm. My broken 18-55mm works to a certain extent if I hold it tightly against the body.

Mother Nature is on her period today. I can't believe that I drove in this mess; sloppy ice-rain, slushy roads, yuck. I think this calls for a Hygienic Sanitary Protector.

Time for another coat.

The glass sea anemone vase is a gift from my absolutely beloved arisugawajuri ♥ I love it to pieces and have become obsessed with collecting glass objects. Anything decadent, delicate, clean.

Broke my D50's lens. The camera fell off of a stand after I bumped into it and it's irreparable (at least the body is okay). I guess I will just have to go buy a nicer lens tomorrow!

Amanda bought me a cupcake in New York City! ♥ I want them all!

She also found an amazing notebook for me!

After sushi for lunch we happened upon a Teaposy stand where I finally found the perfect glass set for my blossoming tea.

Haha, it fell over after I stirred it around.

The stores are filled with Valentine's Day items; I already made cupcakes, though no one ate them! I am not making any more treats! I made an endless array of cookies and cupcakes for Christmas but they were not eaten. It's a shame, really, because I love to bake around any holiday.

Oh well. It's not as though I have anyone to share Valentine's Day desserts with anyway!
